COVID Donation Drive Updates

Dear NLTC Members,

Thanks a lot for your generous contributions to the Covid 19 Fundraising request from NLTC. We would like to give an interim update about how the funds are being used including the funds raised until now.

A special thanks to members of JanaSena NL Chapter for their help in collecting donations for the fund.

Our original idea was to buy Oxygen Concentrators abroad and ship them to India but it was turning out to be a logistical challenge both with buying and shipping.

As an alternative solution, we have identified a company called AMTZ which was setup with assistance from the Central Government as part of the “Make in India” initiative based in Vizag as our vendor to supply Oxygen Concentrators. We received a quotation(attached here) for Concentrators of 5L capacity and a request for payment upfront as a condition for delivery.

Interim update Covid donation drive

The devices will be delivered directly to our charity partner “Helping Hearts Foundation” which is based in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. We have had an association with them during some past events like flood relief etc both as an organisation and also as individuals. Helping Hearts will supply and coordinate the utilisation of the devices in various government hospitals to be loaned out to patients who have a mild COVID infection and help themselves at home.

The current status is that we have made a payment of INR 470400 to AMTZ for 10 Oxygen concentrators and trying to push for expedited delivery through our sources. The balance amount(approximately 108830) will be spent on some basic medical equipments, logistics and travel expenses from our partners etc. A comprehensive expense sheet and update of utilisation will be shared once the delivery is done to our charity partners.

If you have any further questions, you can reach out to us through our multiple channels of communication.

Regards,
Mana Kosam Mana NLTC
